Head of AML recruitment
A fantastic new opportunity for a Head of AML – Corporate Banking has arisen in a major global banking group. The bank is seeking a highly accomplished AML specialist to lead the AML discipline within the Corporate Banking Division and operate at Board level.
The focus is broad reaching covering the Corporate Institutional Banking sectors, SME’s, Shipping and Real Estate clients and Global Transactional Services. It is also multi jurisdictional with a wide scope of nature of transactions within each business.
The job holder will hold CF11 and will be responsible for daily management of a team of circa 16 direct reports. You will be accountable for ensuring operational compliance with Group AML/STF policy and external laws and regulations that the Division is subject to, in order to prevent money laundering and terrorism financing within Division. The role will involve frequent communication and reporting of AML/STF risk management activity to the Group Head of AML and to senior management within Division. You will be seen as a subject matter expert and “trusted adviser” to senior executives and country AML/STF teams on AML/STF related issues.
The successful candidate will have previous experience as MLRO or Deputy MLRO at a major international financial institution – ideally corporate banking. You will have in depth understanding of AML/STF legislation and regulation and their commercial impact. A detailed knowledge of AML/STF processes in multi-jurisdictional operating environment is vital. Given the leadership requirements of the role the successful candidate will also have significant experience of managing large teams.
