The Head of Application Development will manage a newly created team within Allianz’s IT Division, and will report directly to the CIO.
The successful candidate will take ownership of Allianz’s core application development activities for our General Insurance applications. With 2 direct reports and overall responsibility for a team of 50 Developers and Technical Specialists, you will direct all application development functions across the Java, Mainframe and Integration space, including project work and BAU activities.
What will you need to succeed in this role?
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the management of Application Development teams
- Solid background across all aspects of the SDLC with exposure to both Java and Mainframe technologies
- Ability to lead, mentor, coach and develop broadly skilled teams
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on schedule and manage an operating budget
- Self-motivated, results oriented and driven to improve business processes
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- A passion for development and building high quality applications.
