Our client is the securities arm of an Asian banking group. They are looking to recruit an experienced Vice President or Director level candidate as the Head of Back Office.
Reporting to the Head of Operations you will manage Cash Equity and Fixed Income Settlements, Corporate Actions and Cash Management teams which is currently at 7 headcount. The firm has aggressive growth plans for 2012 and you will be responsible for the build out and process development of the team as well as act as the SME on all back office related projects.
Duties will include:
- Manage team performance and staff development
- Work with Equities/Debt Capital markets to ensure all New Issues are settled on timely basis
- Expertise in CMU/Euroclear settlement for bonds denominated in RMB
- Formulate the procedure for the RMB listed stocks in HKEX
- Deal with different Exchanges/Clearing House/Custodians with regards to any rules and regulation updates/changes
- Proactively work with Legal and Compliance on any operational and compliance issues
- Ensure the operational procedures are always reviewed regularly and updated accordingly
- Be involved in any business initiatives review and approval processes.
- Drive projects which include infrastructure builds such as Gloss upgrade and workflow reengineering
Experience required:
- Cash Equity and Fixed Income settlements experience
- Corporate Actions and Cash Management experience
- Strong people management with the ability to motivate and lead through periods of change
- Superior communication skills
- Thorough understanding of operational risk
- Ability to challenge existing processes and implement process improvement
- Gloss experience desired
