The Corporate Center supports UBS' s business divisions and regions through provision of Group-level control functions, covering Finance, Legal Compliance and Risk, and shared services including HR, Information Technology, Communications Branding and Supply Demand Management.

The Switzerland Business Controlling team is responsible for all Financial Reporting / Analysis for the Business Area Switzerland as well as for Business Area Fund Services which has offices in Switzerland, Luxembourg, Cayman Islands (with a branch in Toronto, Canada) and Ireland. It also includes the fee billing teams responsible for all Swiss/Lux fund sales retrocessions/billing and the institutional fee billing for Switzerland, UK, HK and Singapore. The current team size is about 22 people with about three quarters located in Switzerland.

More specifically the head of Business Controlling Switzerland:

Directs, co-ordinates and drives all financial reporting and analysis of business results, including forecasts and projections for the businesses supported by the team. This includes all the related processes culminating in the production and delivery of the reports to the eventual recipients.
Works, with his team, closely with the business to track and record Net New Money movements, invested assets by client account and changes in client account terms and characteristics to ensure they are accurately recorded in Global AM Finance reporting databases and tools which in turn are used for internal and external reporting.
Combines timely and high quality reporting, forecasting and analysis to provide comprehensive decision support, both on existing and potential for new business lines
Acts as a trusted sparring partner to both the CFO of Global AM and also the business heads in Switzerland in advising, challenging and supporting the objectives/deliverables of both Group Finance and the business.
Together with the business heads, actively promotes business growth and profitability with both cost and capital efficiency combined with effective execution.
Acts as the single point of contact for requests from both business partner clients, Divisional Controlling and the Regional CEO office/controller for any data/information pertaining to the Business Areas covered, especially related to Net New Money and Invested Assets.
Ensures that the fee billing/retrocession processes, in coordination with the CRM organisation, work efficiently and that all fees are billed/retrocessions calculated and booked accurately and on a timely basis.
Manages a team of finance professionals, promotes development, growth and diversity within the team.
As a member of the Global AM 'Finance Committee' (FinCo), actively participates in running the Global AM Business Controlling function.
The Head of Business Controlling Switzerland is usually a member or a guest member of the Swiss Management Committee and the Fund Services Management Committee.
Experience in the Financial Services Industry with asset management industry experience as a plus
Experience in working on Finance topics, including strong understanding of reporting requirements
English and German (including preferably Swiss-German) language skills
Hands on experience in dealing with front facing senior Global AM executives
Strong communication, advisory and influencing skills, ability to convey complex information simply
Experience in managing people effectively and leading organisational change programs
Ability to translate strategy into concrete action plans and implement in time and quality
Mature personality with sound judgement, who is able to strike the right balance between challenging and supporting the business
Team player with a demonstrated ability to be a strong leader, should have track record of attracting and developing excellent people
Masters degree in Business or Finance, qualified analyst / accountant (CPA / CFA) or similar. Sound numeric skills and business understanding would also overcome lack of any formal educational qualifications.
