HEAD OF CASH EQUITIES:

Experience/Background:
- Management level experience in either an international financial services role or similar organization
- Leadership experience with proven ability in sales and business development
- Good command of English, both written and verbal
- Experience in Frontier/Emerging Markets

Purpose Of Role:
Entail the leadership, growth and management of the Group's cash equities business for Africa. To be rated as the cash equity business for Africa and start the process for the development of other sophisticated equity products (derivatives, SBL etc) by marketing this from London, and growing a book of UK, European and international clients to invest into Africa.

Key Performance Indicators:
The following will be included in the employment contract and will serve as the primary basis for performance reviews;

- Manage the strategic direction and growth of the cash equities business (local and international)across Africa with full responsibility for revenue and profit targets

- Significantly expand the profitability of each operation

- Business development, in particular driving client trading volumes and other corporate transactions (Initial Public Offers, Rights Issues, Sponsoring Broker etc)

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements

- Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to business and clients

- Exercising budgeting and control of expenses

- Analysing the market and the business to find innovative ways to grow revenue, reduce costs and increase profitability in all operations under management

Location:
- Based in London
- Travel will be required to achieve key performance indicators in UK, Europe and Africa/South Africa

INSTITUTIONAL SALES TRADER:

To build the existing sales trading capacity for further growth of cash equities revenue across Africa.

Experience and Background:
- Highly experienced candidate that has been with an international financial services firm
- Will need to demonstrate a proven ability in sales trading with an already established client distribution network.

Main Purpose of the Job:
To grow and manage the foreign and regional (cross border) stockbroking deal flow and grow trading commission revenue of the securities group across Africa from London via UK, European and frontier market networks.

- Identify and engage with prospective clients to grow existing client base
- manage and grow international deal flow
- communicate trading ideas to foreign clients
- grow trading market share from existing clients
- work with sales and research to convert prospective clients to active clients
- maintain client database of current and prospective clients, including information about organizational structures, holdings, fund mandates and sizes
- build and maintain excellent relationships

INSTITUTIONAL EQUITY SALES:

To build the existing sales trading capacity for further growth of cash equities revenue across Africa.

Experience and Background:
- Highly experienced candidate that has been with an international financial services firm
- Will need to demonstrate a proven ability in sales trading with an already established client distribution network.

Main Purpose of the Job:
To further develop and grow the institutional equity sales function of the securities group.

- Identify and engage with prospective clients
- draw up and maintain (in conjunction with trading) an account plan for every client
- grow trading market share from existing clients
- work with sales and research to convert prospective clients to active clients
- co-ordinate, track and expedite client onboarding process
- maintain current info packs for marketing purposes
- maintain client database of current and prospective clients, including information about organizational structures, holdings, fund mandates and sizes
- build and maintain excellent relationships
- aggressively sell research product client base
- organise and accompany (when necessary) analysts on local and international road shows
- facilitate flow of information between clients, trading and research
- work with research and trading to identify and market investment ideas to clients
- direct trades to trading desk, assist with sourcing blocks trades
- produce ad-hoc sales notes in support of investment ideas
