Dynamic and rapidly expanding international broking house seeks to identify an experienced business manager with proven leadership skills to grow and manage the firm’s cash equity business in Africa. Over time the role will expand to include the management of more complex products and services (derivatives, stock lending/borrowing, etc..). Applicants will have significant cash equities experience gained from a broker/dealer environment, with particular focus on emerging markets.
This is a high profile role to suit a commercially focussed and results driven self starter with an innovative approach and the drive to succeed in an extremely competitive marketplace. Key responsibility will be to manage the strategic growth of the business across Africa and the successful candidate will have full responsibility for the significant expansion of profitability and developing business (driving trading volumes and other corporate transactions to include IPOs, rights issues, sponsoring broker, etc..).
In addition to day to day management and business development duties the role will include ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, undertaking regular client and management reporting and undertaking market and strategic business reviews in order to ensure increased profitability across the business. The role is located in Johannesburg and will require frequent overseas travel.
