THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for a Head of Client Service Delivery for our Investment Operations Outsourcing team in Hong Kong. The successful applicant will play a key leadership role with full management responsibility for the function including Client Servicing Operations teams.
This role is equally client-facing as it is internally focused as there is ownership for overall service and delivery to the client base in the region. The incumbent will also work in conjunction with the GFS regional business head in executing tasks as and when required by the regional business plan.
Overall, as Head of Service Delivery, the job holder will provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, integrate and develop the IOO Service Delivery team to ensure high quality execution and delivery of middle office services
- Partner with peers in NA, Australia and EMEA to develop and ensure consistent global metrics, processes and templates
- Develop functional policies, processes and procedures as needed within the framework of the Global model, working with control, PMO Risk as needed
- Ensure functional teams are resourced appropriately to meet client needs
- Develop and manage functional budget
- Establish positive and collaborative relationships with appropriate personnel at IOO clients
- Lead the hiring, coaching and evaluation of performance for the IOO Service Delivery team
- Provide leadership for governance and executive steering teams as needed
- Assure adherence to Risk Control, Compliance standards
- Plays active leadership role in new business take-ons
- Monitor and manage the overall client commitments and deliverables including evaluating workload capacity, assessing risks, and tracking/reporting status
- Manage geographically-disbursed virtual teams as needed to ensure client service levels are being met or exceeded
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS
• Excellent people management skills
• Good knowledge of a wide range of investment management middle and back office functions - trade processing and settlements, cash processing, income/corporate actions, data management, valuations and client reporting.
• Working knowledge of derivatives processing and fund accounting is also beneficial
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with various levels in an organization
• Willingness to travel as needed
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- A minimum of 10 years operational management experience preferably within the Asset Management/Servicing space.
- Demonstrable experience of building collaborative environments and a strong client service culture
Desirable
- Experience of leading dual operations and client servicing functions within similar environments to those listed above would be advantageous
