Head of Clinical Services
I have a great opportunity for a Head of Clinical services to join a brand new Clinic in Warrington, Cheshire. This service provides patients from all over the world with outstanding care in women’s health, fertility treatment, genetics and day surgery.
This role is to ensure that all aspects of clinical care delivered at this cutting edge facility and its satellite clinics. As Head of Clinical Services you will provide leadership to the nursing teams within this organization. You will be able to offer advice to the consultants in support of their practice and the management team in the maintenance of the highest possible standards of clinical quality.
Qualifications and experience needed for this position are:
• Fully qualified trained nurse with a minimum of 5 years post registration experience in the field of fertility and assisted conception, and Member of Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and British Fertility Society (BFS)
• Conversant with the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) Code of Practice and other regulatory bodies policies and quality standards
• Extensive experience of establishing robust quality and risk management systems
• Highly visible management style, empathetic manner in dealing with patients, leading from the front in offering exceptional patient care
• High level of accuracy and attention to details, able to analyse problems and take initiative in problem-solving
• Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing support to patients and colleagues across all functions and roles
• Able to perform transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasound scans
• Experience in nursing leadership roles, and willingness to learn new clinical and management skills
Responsibilities
• Assist with the day-to-day smooth management of clinical activities, overseeing the activities of the nursing team and approving the clinical staffing rota’s across all clinics within agreed ratios
• Recruit, retain and motivate an appropriately skilled specialist nursing team
• Support the multidisciplinary team to provide fertility and satellite assisted conception services in the available clinical sites across the North West, and playing an active role in maintaining all appropriate governance standards
• Liaise with other specialists and healthcare practitioners as necessary
• Assist with the continuing development of evidence-based clinical protocols
• Ensure appropriate development and implementation of patient’s pathways
• Monitor key performance indicators and be aware of opportunities to deliver the best quality of care
• Participate in a weekly on-call rota (1:3) to answer patient’s queries over the telephone
