Our client is a leading Financial Institution with outstanding reputation in Trade Commodity Finance and is looking to hire an experienced individual that is confident, dynamic and self-motivated to lead their Collateral Management Team.
Job Description
Credit Monitoring: Responsible for monitoring of the credit portfolio.
- Manage a significant portfolio of facilities protecting the Bank's exposure to risk through the constant monitoring of credit facilities and valuation of collateral.
- Jointly responsible for a good relationship with the Bank's customers and intermediaries/counter-parties, maintaining and building client relationships and ensuring good utilization of the facility.
- Approval and ongoing monitoring of transactions to ensure they remain within agreed credit parameters as approved / recommended by RCO/SCO.
- Showing credit risks in a timely manner by reacting to facility excesses and collateral shortfalls.
- Ensuring that proper notification to (risk) management of deviations and deterioration in the Bank’s credit risk position takes place.
- Regular liaison with traffic/financial/ trading contacts of our clients and intermediaries/counter-parties such as warehouses/surveyors/forwarders/insurance companies etc.
- Providing timely and proper release instructions to warehouses/forwarders and information updates to relevant counter parties such as insurance companies etc.
As Team Leader: Manage and lead a team of up to 8 team members.
- Managing department budget and expenses, ensuring accruals keep within budgets while supporting business growth requirements.
- Manage FTE requirements ensuring adequate resources are available at all times to handle BAU volumes while anticipating new requirements.
- Identify process inefficiencies and try to streamline such requirements to better service clients.
- Ensure all collateral is properly captured in CMS for Basel II reporting and efficient RWA management.
- Work with RMs to achieve sensible lending structures that balance risk with client requirements.
- Regular risk assessment and due diligence including off-site visits to warehouses and Collateral Managers that the Bank works with.
- Achieve a robust operational risk structure by identifying and incorporating KRIs and KCSAs.
- Achieve an active dialogue with RCO/SCO in discussing risk issues and on-going development of the portfolio.
- Regular client contact to ensure better understanding of client’s business; the markets in general and increase CMT profile.
- Develop training plans and personal development plans for you and the team.
- Identify team leaders and potential team leaders within the team.
Qualifications Skills
- Strong working experience in a similar commodity finance team.
- Strong people management skills, with prior experience in a managerial capacity.
- Regional experience preferred, though not essential.
- Good communication (written and verbal) Interpersonal skills.
- Good presentation skills.
- Strong problem solving influencing skills.
