Head of Commodities Strategic Business Development recruitment

The successful candidate will support the London Base Metals Sales team; the candidate will have a thorough understanding and previous experience of the sales and front office functions from a Futures and specifically Base Metals business.

The Role

-Sales and Front Office oversight, ensuring clients and accounts are adequately handled, mitigated and in compliance with internal and external requirements.

-Regular assessment and reporting to Senior Management.

-Support daily optimization of operations within business area and different departments of the company.

-Definition, formalization and implementation of internal policies and procedures, ensuring consistency.

-Project management including new product set-up, review new activities and products to ensure effective and adequate controls are established and implemented. 

-Client on-boarding. Liaise with Sales, Senior Management, Operations, IT, Risk, Compliance, Audit, etc to ensure process effectiveness.

-Ad hoc projects as determined by senior management.

Person Specification

-Degree qualified with a finance or related background or equivalent

-Strong client and project management experience

-Indepth knowledge of the global LME markets, specifically Europe and Asia

-Excellent product knowledge to enhance cross promotion and niche selling, to include all relevant derivatives and related products in the base metals range

-Must have a thorough working knowledge of the interfaces between the various Sales, New Business, Account Management and Senior Management departments from within a financial institution

-Excellent communication presentation skills

-Extensive experience of supporting a sales and front office function from a Futures and specifically Base Metals business.
