Head of Commodities Technology (C++/C#) recruitment
My client is a Leading Global Financial Technology and Analytics Firm with a significant and exciting growth plan ahead for 2012/2013. The organization is currently investing millions of dollars in designing a huge suite of systems and platforms completely from scratch and they have an amazing focus on cutting edge technology and client delivery. With a continued push into the European Commodities/Energy markets, the team is seeking an exceptional senior technologist to take a lead role in the London team.
Working closely with global commodities business managers, you will own and lead the green-field design and development of an innovative front office application. You will build out the team in London and go on to lead teams Europe, Asia and New York (up to and around 30 people). Reporting to the Global Head of Technology for this innovative platform, you will have a huge amount of responsibility and ownership. It is essential that you have deep knowledge of the commodities markets, as well as top class technical skills. The firm is using a range of programming languages and techniques, including C++, C#/.Net, F#, Open-Source, Parallel Computing etc. Whilst you do not have to be hands on at present, it is essential that you possess strong design and architecture skills.

Responsibilities will include;
- Full responsibility of the Global Commodities Technology Team
- The design and development of a Green-Field Client Facing Commodities System (being built in C++/C#)
- Building out a team of developers in London, Europe, Asia and New York
- Work closely alongside senior business managers
- Work under tight deadlines with a continued focus on client delivery
- Report to the Global Head of Technology
- Continually innovative and ensure best technology practice. Stay ahead of the curve with the latest technical advances e.g. functional programming, open source etc
