JOB DESCRIPTION
The person sought will act as the Head of Compliance, MLRO and Data Privacy Officer for the Bank’s Luxembourg operation as well as support regional and global compliance initiatives and programs. The role’s responsibilities include timely advice to all parts of the business, review and analysis of regulations, policies and procedures, engagement in the new business approval process, conducting compliance risk assessments, maintaining good regulatory relations, training employees and conducting compliance testing, working with external clients and the compliance organization, and managing others. The position reports fist and foremost to the Managing Director of the bank from a local regulatory perspective; and functionally to the Head of Compliance (Europe ex-UK).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years relevant Compliance, AML and data privacy experience. If not gained in Luxembourg, the capacity to get up the learning curve very rapidly;
- We welcome candidates from Luxembourg ; also from the FSA; foreign financial institutions and consultancies;
- Thorough knowledge of Compliance, balanced by a sound understanding of the business' aims;
- Capacity to make their mark quickly with the local Regulator;
- Strong English, combined with a knowledge of either French or German for regulatory work;
- Excellent communicator: with colleagues, clients and the Regulator;
- Capacity to stand firm and defend decisions up the Compliance chain of command;
- Ready to challenge the status quo; unafraid of bureaucracy;
- Excellent networker, sharing information on problems successfully overcome;
- Proven knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to translate them into operational/process requirements within the Bank;
- Ability to deliver high quality results in a dynamic environment as part of a geographically dispersed global compliance team;
- University graduate;
- Talented manager, head of team (two at present);
- Ability to work in partnership with others in Compliance and outside; a good team player;
- Flexibility on hours; ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills in a senior business management and control functions environment.
Remuneration: around €130,000 with excellent bonus for the best; car and generous banking package.
