Head of Compliance MLRO - Mid Tier Bank - London
A successful mid tier firm inLondonthat specialises in wholesale banking is seeking a Head of Compliance and MLRO to focus on AML and day to day compliance. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished compliance professional with broad knowledge of FCA rules and PRA regulations and the ability to maintain update and where appropriate establish Anti Money Laundering policies and procedures for the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Advice on regulatory issues to all areas of the firms business.
- Establish procedures to ensure that all levels of staff are aware of relevant regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with the FCA and PRA in respect of matters such as interpretation of rules and regulatory implications arising from changes in the firms activities.
- Prepare and deliver in house presentations/training to further enhance awareness of FCA and PRA rules.
- Notify the FCA on the appropriate forms of the registration of new staff and withdrawal of departing staff in accordance with the FCA Approved persons rules.
- Carry out special investigation projects/assignments, whenever necessary, concerning cases, or alleged cases of Fraud affecting the firm.
- Maintain the correct adherence to the Sanctions Lists and manage the bank's automated sanctions-filtering software system.
- Communicate with the FCA and PRA on matters relating to money laundering whenever necessary.
- Monitor adherence to the firms Anti Money Laundering Policies and Procedures.
- Arrange, administer and ensure that all staff have appropriate training in relation to money laundering.
- Identify and circulate within the firm findings made by national governments and international bodies relating to the activities of money launderers.
- When necessary, produce external reports to SOCA (Serious Organised Crime Agency).
- Produce annual reports to the senior management of the firm relating to the effectiveness of anti money laundering procedures.
- Provide advice on regulatory issues to all areas of the firms business.
- Monitor activities within all parts of the firm on a regular basis to ensure, as far as possible, that business is conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements; follow up problems and ensure that corrective action is taken where necessary.
- Review and update on a regular basis the firms Compliance Manual and Branch Personal Account Dealing Notice and to explain the spirit and rationale of the rules as applicable to the firm and to promote best practice.
- Ensure that all clients are correctly categorised in accordance with the rules and that the relevant categorisation letters/notices are despatched to the client in accordance with the rules.
Requirements:
- 8+ years experience in industry working for a large blue chip financial services organisation
- Strong experience in AML
- Expertise within the wholesale banking arena
- University Degree educated
- Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, SWIFT
Salary £90,000 to £100,000 (+ highly competitive package)
