The role of Head of Consulting, GCP Japan/Asia Pacific Australia (JAPA) will build a high performing Consultant team that will actively engage with our new and existing customers with the aim of creating value, maximising growth or improving the business performance of our customers across the expense management function.
The GCP JAPA Consultants will achieve this as a team by identifying options with recommendations, leveraging the GCP JAPA organisation to provide the right resources and/or support for the implementation of our recommended solutions.
Role requirements:
- Engagement Execution: Effectively scope and plan project and engagement resources, program manages engagements, and is able to execute multiple work objectives on-time and within budget. Strong focus on quality
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong and trusted partnerships with key players and decision-makers within client organizations and across American Express. Elevate, deepen and broaden all client relationships and maintain these through a thorough understanding of client and business needs
- Problem Solving Analysis: Understand client priorities and available American Express solutions. Analyse solutions and information assets to generate highly strategic, insightful, creative and customized recommendations for clients, leveraging relevant industry knowledge
- Influencing: Bring entrepreneurial spirit and innovative mindset. Gain support for proposals/ideas and influence key decisions at American Express and with clients. Provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to enhance new and existing solutions
- Business Development: Proactively identify and recommend business building opportunities that drive growth and profitability for both American Express and the client. Collaborate with other internal partners, especially Client Management and Sales to identify key business development opportunities to achieve revenue and profitability goals. Supports execution of internal/external growth initiatives
- People Development: Provide direction and support to team members to successfully meet all client needs and expectations. Support career management and training objectives
This can be achieved by:
- Leveraging proven Consultant Leadership capabilities to build a high performing team of customer facing consultants who deliver executable value to GCP customers
- Entrenching the Consulting function into the Large Market MNC sales processes to accelerate new acquisitions and strategic prospects across the region
- Partnering with Global Consulting Group (GCG) and Large Market Account Development leaders to deliver Consulting engagements to our client base that drive expansion and retain existing business
- Conceptualizing and delivering thought leadership projects such as benchmarking studies, white papers, client forums and best practice sessions
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise, ideally in a Senior Consultant role, in providing objective advice, expertise and specialist skills with the aim of creating value, maximising growth or improving the business performance of corporate clients across the expense management function, and leverage the ability to support the client in the implementation of recommended products or services
- Proven success in building and leading a team of experienced consultants through a complex and dynamic environment
- Exceptional relationship skills including the ability to influence positive outcomes and develop strong partnerships with key client contacts and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in consistently delivering strong results for the business
- Strong understanding and experience of the corporate travel entertainment and corporate card industries
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – written and oral
- Solid experience in Consulting (internal or external), supported by sales and/or client management experience
- MBA or relevant University qualifications
