Head of Core Products and Services recruitment
This is a pivotal role where you will be accountable for maintaining a pan Group view of all technology core products and services development work at a project, skills and technology domain level. This role is based in Edinburgh.
Global Development Services (GDS) is a division in our Technology Services department and the primary function of GDS is to leverage best practice, technology expertise and manage resource utilisation across all application development functions globally.
As Head of Core Products and Services you will define and lead the function, creating the leadership team, management structure and organisation. This position will report to the Head of Development and will join the extended GDS Leadership team.
You will contribute to the definition of the overall strategy and architecture for Group Technology Services. It is essential that you establish effective relationships with the supply arm and third party vendors to ensure depth and breadth of resource capability to meet GDS demand. Through managing resources effectively, you will create a delivery capability to support the project needs of RBS Group projects. You will also define and execute a strategy for the Core Banking Platforms for RBS Group that reduces cost and complexity and improves speed to market of new product delivery.
To be successful in this role you should be an IT leader with expertise in working within the Retail function of a financial organisation and its associated legacy platforms and systems. Coupled with this, it is essential that you have experience in planning and organising large scale engineering based change, in large and complex programmes, across a number of technology and business areas. As this role has a global remit you should have a proven track record of working in a diverse global organisation, establishing partnerships across regions and cultures.
