HEAD OF CORRESPONDENT BANKING – FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS (FI’s) recruitment

Job Requirements:

- Knowledge of international banking and banking products
- Communication, initiative, drive and control skills
- MBA, or equivalent
- Minimum of seven years' experience in the field

Overall Purpose of Function:

To meet and exceed the Bank's business objectives and strategy through the management, servicing and retention of the Bank's existing relationship network of Financial Institutions (FIs), and through the identification of new FI relationships.

Key Areas of Activity/Responsibility:

- Establishes and maintains high-quality, professional relationships with our FIs network through a well-planned and executed calling programme and other effective means of communication.

- To achieve maximum profit potential of our FI relationship network, through the production of effective feedback and documentation.

- Maintain an updated record of all visits and contacts with FIs, submitting regular reports and analysing essential information to maximise the bank's relationships with these banks.

- Ensure that all FI partners with whom the Bank maintains a relationship are kept advised of any changes to the Bank's information, including that related to the Bank's executive management, ownership and operation.

- Co-ordination of efforts to maximise the return/interest rates on placements with existing FI counterparties, and the identification of new potential counterparties.

- Regularly review the Terms and Conditions with FIs with whom the Bank maintains relations, with the aim of negotiating the most beneficial charging rates.

- Regularly review the business relationships of those Financial Institutions maintaining an account with the bank, by qualitative checks, in terms of documentation integrity with regards to update of Compliance, KYC documentation and due diligence requirements for F.I. customers, and business checks, in terms of transactional levels/profitability, where appropriate, making recommendations as to the continuation of the relationship.

- Ensure all new Financial Institution account opening documentation prepared is completed 100% accurately, in compliance with the Bank's 'Know your Client' Policy and Procedures.

- Ensure all relevant procedures, policies or instructions for the Department, including those for Compliance, as laid down by the Bank, are strictly adhered to.

- Keep up-to-date with market trends and new services and tariffs in the industry and provides feedback on them to identify new business opportunities and review costs.

- Maintain effective communication and cooperation with other departments of the bank, providing them with relevant feedback, and exchanging information on the bank's products, services, procedures and issues of concern arising out of relationship agreements with correspondent banks.

General Responsibilities:

- Review and approval of SWIFT user exchange RMA (Relationship Management Application) requests, and the recording of such exchange in the Bank's main banking system and records.

- Co-ordination of responses sent on behalf of the Bank to requests from banking partners and other relative entities or authorities relating to due diligence, the Bank's KYC and financial information and data.

- Provide assistance to Compliance and Operations Departments in their communications with our FI network in related matters.

Internal Relationships:

All departments of the bank that deal with / service / act upon, issues, processes and procedures concerning correspondent banks, particularly those related to Operational and Treasury matters.

External Relationships:

With Local and international banks, Financial Institutions, Financial Service companies.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

*Ability to communicate with staff and customers of various cultures and nationalities.
*Very good understanding of inter-bank markets, transactions and relationships.
*Good understanding of the banks organisation, its operations and products and services.
*Must be able to assume increasing levels of responsibility and challenge within a dynamic business environment.
*Must be a team player but must also possess the ability to work alone and act upon own initiative.
*Must have solid proven experience in multi-disciplined activity.
*Must possess international relations experience, working across diverse geopolitical business cultures and be exposed to the formation of contracts and agreements.
