Head of Counter Fraud & Loss Prevention
Client Description:
The MOD is the fifth largest government department with an annual procurement spend of circa £14Bn. The mission is to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to project its values and interests abroad. Transforming Defence to deliver requires “a hard-headed approach to what we can afford, now and in the future, getting the most value we can from each pound of taxpayers’ money”. To support the need to deploy resources as effectively as possible, the MOD now wishes to appoint a Head of Fraud and Loss Prevention who, reporting to the Director of Resources Head Office and Corporate Finance, will:-
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain oversight of all aspects of fraud risk management activity to minimise the risk of fraud.Develop and monitor the fraud threat landscape and develop and implement a fraud risk assessment framework to analyse the risk of fraud in key operations.
- Lead on the integration of counter-fraud capabilities in the MOD and network with counter-fraud agencies across central and local government and other agencies.
- Assess the effectiveness of preventative and detective controls; develop risk mitigation plans and deliver a vision and road map of the best in class fraud risk management including the development of organisational structure, roles and responsibilities to support the vision.
Candidate Description:
You are a fraud specialist with a demonstrable track record in the successful management of fraud and loss risk in a large complex organisation. Experienced in risk identification, control, monitoring, analysis, and interventions and investigations. Able to develop relationships across a large stakeholder group, work strategically and contribute to corporate thinking. Innovative, can see the big picture, collaborative, decisive and able to partner to build capability for all.
The successful candidate will be appointed on the modernised SCS terms and conditions. Existing civil servants will retain their existing rights if accepting this post on level transfer.
