Head of Credit Risk – Current Accounts recruitment

Our client, a leading global bank seeks a senior risk management professional for the role of Head of Credit Risk - Current Accounts, based in London and reporting to the Consumer Credit Risk Director.

This is a newly created high profile role, with accountability for the end-to-end credit risk management of unsecured lending within the UK, including current accounts and savings products. If successful, you will be the principle point of contact for Group Risk and will have responsibility for ensuring that economic capital and risk weighted assets are managed appropriately; that systems and operating procedures support the lending process; and that sufficient controls are implemented and adhered to, in order to successfully manage the risks associated with lending to retail customers.

In addition you will play a key role in helping the business understand where value is created and destroyed and you will be expected to fully optimise the risk/reward equation within the stated risk profile.

You must have extensive experience in the banking industry with a strong awareness of the processes, controls, systems and technology employed. You should be highly regarded by your peers as an expert in the field of credit risk management and the unsecured lending sector, with a thorough grasp of value based management techniques and significant expertise in policy and collections strategy management.

The ability to communicate with confidence and develop ongoing credible relationships with key stakeholders, both within the organisation and externally, will be key to your success in this role. You must be able to produce high quality presentations suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences; used to working in high performing, heavily matrixed organisations; and able to influence at all levels as well as recruit, develop, lead and retain talented risk professionals.
