Head of Credit Risk Management recruitment

Role:

To manage, identify measure and report the credit risk of the firm.  Counterparties and issuers on a global basis.  Products are mainly fixed income focussed with vanilla and structured transactions. The role is part of the holistic management of risk across the firm and will work in conjunction with other risk disciplines.

Key responsibilities:

• Proactive risk management of the counterparty and issuer credit risk

• Undertake analysis and manage the credit analysis requirements for counterparty risk and issuer risk.  Entities include Sovereigns, Financial Institutions, Corporates, Non-Bank Financial Institutions, Hedge Funds and Structured Vehicles

• Membership of Risk Management Committee and Chairperson of Credit Risk Working Group

• Manage the credit risk related policies and procedures of the firm

• Management, training and recruitment of staff (a team of 20 at present)

• Engage in front office liaison to identify and mitigate credit risk at the earliest stages and ensure that business is properly structured to maximise the firm’s protection against credit loss

• Facilitate, develop and design the reporting and monitoring of credit risk for counterparties and issuers in conjunction with the credit reporting and control functions within the department

• Develop credit risk measurement methodology (in conjunction with quant teams)

• To represent the firms at meetings with the UKFSA, JFSA, BOJ and other external parties

Skills and Experience:

• Significant experience in credit risk management, across counterparty types and covering calculation of credit exposure for derivatives and repo

• Significant experience at a senior level in handling documentation with counterparties from credit risk management perspective

• Experience working in a firm with Credit Risk Internal Model Methodology approval

• An excellent understanding of structured transactions

• Flexible working approach in a changing environment

• Strong leadership and people management skills
