Head of Credit Structuring & Analysis recruitment

As one of the leading Middle East banking groups, our client is a top tier regional player with an impressive global reach. They are currently looking to recruit a Head of Credit Structuring Analysis.

Sitting at a Director grade, this position will have overall responsibility for the Wholesale and Investment Banking divisions credit portfolio management as well as the structuring and analysis of all lending products. Daily responsibilities will be varied and will include:

• Assume primary responsibility as senior transactor for the most complex and challenging credit intensive transactions.

• Through active management ensure delivery of the highest possible level of credit structuring services quality

• Work closely with Coverage/Product teams, actively participating in the account planning / budgeting process to identify priority relationships and associated credit product needs.

• Achieve other performance criteria as agreed from time to time such as Return on Assets, RAROC and EP.

• Assist, as appropriate, in managing the Credit Portfolio and new extensions of credit to minimise the loss of income either through non-accruing loans or charge-offs.

• Review and sign off credit proposals prior to submission to the credit chain.

• Authorise transactions, excesses, disbursal of facilities etc within delegated limits.

• Active portfolio optimisation, including downside risk reduction and upside economic value optimisation.

• Setting the overall credit portfolio strategy, taking into account the Bank’s current and forecast risk appetite, market condition, business strategy and growth plans i.e. early identification of financial deterioration, recommended risk rating changes, and aggressive protection of the bank’s interests where deterioration develops.

• Acting as a central point for decision making on portfolio management actions

• Working with Coverage/Origination to optimally steer the portfolio at the deal inception. Helping guide origination, asset selection, pricing and hold amounts

Applicants will need to demonstrate a strong knowledge and proven track-record of active credit portfolio management including credit structuring analysis. They will also require an excellent understanding of loan products and other credit instruments, as well as of credit risk products and portfolio/ economic capital models and methodologies and drivers of portfolios risk. A sound knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative approaches to credit risk assessment will also be expected.
