As a Head of Dealing your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Extensive dealing experience, within equity and fixed interest markets.
In-depth knowledge of securities trading and underlying markets, trading locations and protocols in respect of equity markets, sovereign debt, sterling corporate credit, futures and options, money market instruments (CDs, CPs) and foreign exchange.
Strong working knowledge of trading platforms, including algorithmic trading.
Detailed knowledge of MIFID and FSA rules regulations.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong process improvement skills.
A team player with a positive attitude.
Previous experience of managing a team is desirable.
Ideally educated to degree level.
As a Head of Dealing your main responsibilities will involve:
Daily trading activity and the execution of orders on behalf of the business.
Responding to the dealing requirements of current and potential customers of SAMUK, proactively anticipating any issues that may occur and suggesting improvements to existing arrangements.
Provision of a comprehensive equity and fixed income dealing service for all relevant instruments.
Providing a tailored market information service for the equity and fixed income desks, taking into account their requirements and objectives.
Ensuring that all client deals are executed in the market to achieve best-execution obligations.
Daily oversight of trading activity to counterparties.
Supporting trading activities from other parts of Santander Asset Management.
Managing counterparty relationships to maximise trading outcomes and working on increasing the number of trading relationships to improve execution services provided to SAMUK clients.
Presenting SAMUK to the external broker community with a high level of professionalism
Actively contributing to the investment process with trading ideas.
Leading a team and developing other team members.
Salary: £70,000 - £85,000 + excellent benefits
