Head of Delivery Office, Corporate Banking Division
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Business and Commercial Chief Operating Office for a Head of Delivery. This role manages the information and reporting for the programme, ensuring sufficient challenge and support to projects ensuring there is clear visibility of issues and resolutions in place to address. The jobholder will be responsible for collation and scrutiny of the monthly deep dive sessions ensuring that these crucial management meetings have correct focus and challenge. Responsible for the Business Implementation, Business Readiness across the programme ensuring that a suitably strong team is built that can support all of our projects and ensure best practice is achieved in the delivery of our projects. The role holder will ensure that the programme is achieved whilst retaining market share and revenue, improving efficiency and reducing cost to serve. The role holder will work co-operatively with the Transformation and Delivery Director, Business and Commercial, Chief Operating Officer ad other members of BC Board, together with other senior executives in Corporate Banking Division, other UK Divisions and dependent Group Transformation programmes to achieve the delivery of Business Commercial Banking's ambition to return to sustainable standalone strength.
- Extensive significant experience of leading and directing significant business and regulatory transformation initiatives, ranging from vision and strategy to the creation and implementation of major business change programmes.
- Extensive cross functional experience at a senior level from operations, change, customer proposition and strategic planning. Experience of managing internal and external technology suppliers.
- Demonstrable understanding of the role that business processes and lean thinking play in operations and service/proposition delivery

- Successful track record of driving corporate-wide change programs cross-functionally with multiple dependencies and constraints, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and key external partners to quickly and effectively deploy innovative programs to achieve successful result.
- Lead, shape and commission customer research to establish demand and value attributed to activities undertaken to support the customer relationship and the opportunity for new propositions.
- Accountable for the definition of an ongoing external and competitor research capability to ensure developments in the programme are innovative and value driven in the market place
- Challenge the accepted norms in current business operation, balancing this with a profound understanding of customer drivers and market opportunities.
- Lead the effective co-ordination with key internal parties to establish benefits and costs of proposals, ensuring rapid decision-making and the identification and management of underlying business assumptions. Define manage appropriate and effective governance for the programmes
- Drive Benefits Management throughout the Transformation programmes and more widely in BC, fostering a discipline of benefits identification and realisation, through both measurement and clear implementation and post event action plans
- Drive the cost-effective use of pilots and processing to test proposition proposals
- Own the risk profile and ensure that it is understood and agreed by the wider BC board
- Develop and deliver robust business cases to justify key projects where development will either test a propositional element or deliver a key element of the programme
- Be the key advocate for the strategy of the programme both within BC and within wider executive communities in RBSG
- Manage a multi-disciplined team of Programme Managers, Change Managers, SMEs, internal and external suppliers
- Lead the identification and exploitation of synergies with strategic developments within the group and identify and with own development and seek to influence others' work to maximise benefit to Transformation.
- Enable flexible approach in light of evolving market whilst ensuring that programme manager will deliver on time and within budget
