Head of Delivery recruitment

This is a pivotal role with a primary responsibility for all project and programme delivery aligned to the CIO organisation. This role is based in Edinburgh.

Global Development Services (GDS) is a division in our Technology Services department and the primary function of GDS is to leverage best practice, technology expertise and manage resource utilisation across all application development functions globally.

As Head of Delivery you will be responsible for defining and implementing an operating model to deliver solutions which offer top quartile value and versatility against global benchmarks.  This senior position will be a direct report to the Chief Technology Office, GDS.

You will also provide solutions to meet the defined technology and information needs of all Division businesses and Group Functions working closely with global partners and internal resources across the RBS Group. In terms of people management, you will support the development and capability of the project teams to create a dynamic delivery focused organisation. You will also provide leadership, both individually and collectively with the GDS leadership team to transform the business in to a respected delivery organisation.

In the arena of governance and risk you will provide project delivery governance and control of all technology change through appropriate delivery channels and partners. You will manage risk across all projects and programmes in line with the risk appetite, and actively shape the delivery approach based on the nature of the risks.

Naturally, you will have a track record of leading large transformational change in a diverse global organisation, establishing partnerships across regions and cultures.  It is essential that you are an experienced people leader as you will have ultimate responsibility for 200 FTE directly and increased numbers indirectly (including suppliers). You will also have strong relationship skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with businesses, leadership, management teams and employees.
