Head of Deposit Sales recruitment

The primary objective is to maximise the Bank's earnings through the sale of Deposit products and to drive deposit balances against agreed targets.  As such the focus of the role is on gaining "new to the bank" business resulting in incremental income / profit. The role-holder will need to proactively develop relationships with non-bank connections to capture their Deposits business.  To ensure new income streams are sustainable the role-holder will also support the establishment of strong, long-term relationships in conjunction with the lead Relationship Director based in the network. Sales will be of a large, unusual or complex nature often involving new or developing products.

Your role will develop to identity, promote and support business development opportunities in the Corporate and Cross-Border Sectors by delivering solutions to new and existing customers using new and / or existing Cash Management products. You will provide pricing commerciality and rigour on BCB deposit and money transmission products, through a combination of discretionary controls, financial direction, structural guidance and competitive insight. You will ensure that BCB receives an appropriate return, taking into account the market environment and competition, BCB strategy, and wider commercial considerations. 

 As the Head of London Deposit Origination, you will generate new deposit balances against an agreed target, focussing particularly on high value deals, including pension administrators. You will sell complex cash management products using a consultancy and needs satisfaction approach. You will negotiate and close "stand alone" sales. You will sanction, restructure and decline deposit opportunities from Relationship and Cash Management teams and from junior members of the Deposit Sales teams. You will identify related customer needs and sales opportunities when in contact with the customer. You will develop links with other Group Companies and product areas to maximise cross selling opportunities.

 What will you need?

The jobholder will be responsible for a wide geographical area and will be expected to operate on a mobile / peripatetic basis across this area.  The job-holder will need to be highly self-motivated and will be required to undertake a proportionate amount of travelling. Given the mobile nature of the role the jobholder will be able to operate independently from the reporting line and will be able to effectively utilise a range of mobile communication. The majority of the sales where the jobholder is involved will be in highly competitive and time pressured situations and s/he will require a very high level of commercial awareness in respect of both domestic and international competitors. Communication will be a critical skill to gain business and ensure relationships are properly managed with a cost conscious and highly intelligent customer base. Requires and understanding of corporate client cash management needs including a good working knowledge of client accounting and Treasury Management operating systems and how our services interface with them.
