Our client is an expanding Corporate Investment Bank with a significant focus in Asia. It is currently undergoing extensive growth in Asia in both business front office as well as back office. To strengthen the support for their growing Equities business globally, an outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced and creative Head of Equities Middle Office who wants to make a difference in the bank. The role is based in Hong Kong.
Reporting to the Global Head of Middle Office, you will assist in managing an expanding team of middle office / trade support and project management team members across various locations in Asia supporting the Equities business, encompassing products including Cash Equity, Derivatives, Convertible Bond and Delta One. Working closely with the business, your team will provide quality service and support on value-added tasks in Middle Office. Being a functional leader, you will monitor and ensure effective internal controls and procedures are in place, work on operational risk management data and reports, identify gaps for process improvement and work with the business on new product programs. You will also actively lead or participate in change initiatives, infrastructure / process design for new and current products as well as to strengthen the team for future growth. This role provides excellent opportunities for good performance and contributions to be recognised and rewarded by senior management.
To qualify, individuals must process:
- A university degree
- Minimum 12 to 15 years relevant experience with at least 5 years in Equities / Equity Derivatives Middle Office / Operations
- Experience in a leadership role covering other derivatives products may also be considered
- Team management experience, cross locations coverage would be highly advantageous
- Creative mind-set, willingness to be hands-on, ability to build relationships and partnerships with senior management, business leaders, cross-functions and cross-locations teams
- Strong Control and Risk Management mindset
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
