Head of Equity Research Sales – Asia recruitment

Institutional Equities provides equity services by linking corporates to institutional clients including economics, research across all asset classes, equity origination, equity syndication, equity trading and derivatives and equity distribution.

Key Accountabilities of this role:

Client / Internal client / Business partners

• Manage the team to develop and maintain profitable long term client relationships

• Explore, and develop cross selling opportunities within the CBA group

• Develop and maintain good relationships with all support functions and internal partners

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with our target institutional clients

• Build and maintain strong connections between listed and unlisted companies and the Bank’s equity and fixed interest businesses

• Leverage the bank’s data, access to companies, scale, expertise to deliver a unique value proposition to clients

Contribution to Profit / Business

• Maximize cross selling opportunities within IBM, and the broader bank

• Create a business environment which promotes IBM’s Total Capital Solutions strategy

• Understand the external global market environment and provide input into strategic planning for the IE business and help support all growth initiatives

• Deliver the strategy to become a market leading institutional broker over the medium to long term and in accordance with you KPIs outlined from time to time

• Deliver expected revenue and optimise the long-term brokerage potential of each account through an organised approach to Account Management

Leadership / Management

• Develop and execute a cohesive business strategy for the Research Sales team

• Ensure that the business model and activities are aligned with the division strategy

• Regularly monitor and review performance of the team to individual and team KPIs

• Demonstrate effective leadership to retain, develop and motivate high performance

• Motivate staff to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and business profitability

• Apply the management systems and processes of the organization to effectively carry out accountabilities in relation to resources, planning, decision-making, implementation, monitoring of outcomes, and reporting

Risk management and compliance

• Become accredited as and fulfill the requirements of an ASIC Responsible Executive for the business and/or other international regulatory authorities in Asia or North America as directed by the Head of Institutional Equities

• Ensure that business objectives are achieved within the Risk and Compliance guidelines

• Ensure that staff are adequately trained and skills developed to achieve business objectives

• Remain abreast of relevant regulations, industry and market changes
