Our client is a mid-sized International Banking Group with a growing presence in Asia and key businesses in Corporate Banking, Wealth Management and Global Markets. As part of their commitment in the Asia strategic expansion, a leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Finance / Financial Controller to strengthen their Finance function for the Hong Kong Branch.
Reporting to the Regional CFO, you will lead a team of 8 and manage the day-to-day Finance operations of the HK branch and various banks’ subsidiaries. You will lead the team to prepare periodical management reporting, statutory reporting, Head Office reporting, and regulatory reporting to HKMA. In addition, the team will produce MIS analytics, perform balance sheet reconciliations, prepare budget and forecast, tax compliance and submissions, and daily and monthly profit loss reporting on treasury products. As a team leader, you will partner with the business in providing useful reporting and financial information, streamline and automate processes, review and maintain procedures and controls. Strong team management skill in this role is crucial which you will lead, coach and develop the young and talented team.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
- A university degree and a professional accounting qualification
- Minimum 10 to 15 years all-rounded accounting skills in statutory reporting, regulatory reporting, Treasury Product Controlling, Head Office reporting, and management reporting gained within Banking
- Solid experience in handling / reviewing HKMA reporting and regulatory matters
- A proven track record in strong leadership skills and supervisory experience
- Strong competency in excel, pivot tables, PeopleSoft, Essbase would be highly beneficial
- Good communication skills with fluency in English is a Must
