Head of Finance recruitment
A Global Private Equity Real Estate Fund seeks to hire a Head of Finance to manage a team of Fund Accountants and supervisors. This person will effectively manage the finance department and report to the Asia CFO and will cover all financial related matters for the Japanese Funds across Opportunistic and Core strategies.
Apart from having strong financial and accounting skills, this person should be business savvy with strong understanding of the investment process as they will be expected to interface with the investment/deal teams regularly.
Main responsibilities would however include team management, preparation/review of quarterly reports for investors, review of management accounts, financial accounts and review monthly payments, financial analytical review on underwriting of current and ongoing projects, respond to investors queries and prepare presentation slides for fund manager for fund review. You will actively assist the fund manager on all financial matters including fund budgets, fund capital calls and distribution planning etc. This would also include investment valuations, calculation of fund performance indicators, quarterly investor reporting, management fees and carried interest calculations amongst others. You will also provide transaction support during deals and exits for the principal investments in Japan. You will check funds transactions periodically to make sure they meet compliance requirements. In this role you will work closely with the deal team on transactions by becoming the crucial interface between the accounting and the investment process for all the principal investments. You will also support financial reporting and management reporting for the corporate entity itself by using consolidation methods at the Group and fund levels. You will also review management reports, write financial forecasts and create risk management reports for the attention of senior management.
This opportunity would be fantastic for someone who speaks fluent Japanese based either in Japan or abroad who wants to relocate to Tokyo. For this role it is essential that you meet the language requirements. As an ideal candidate you could be working at one of the Fund Administrators / Custodian banks service providers or from a RE fund.
For this role you should have around 10 years of working experience with a strong preference for a qualified accounting/BIG 4 background..
