Head of Financial Control recruitment
Role Objective/Responsibilities:
Our client is a specialist banking group operating in Fixed Income including treasury solutions business, currency and equity derivates, etc.
This role will be responsible for dealing in a daily base with Lending and Financing including Personal and Specialist Finance, Structured Property Finance, Aircraft Finance, to name a few.
Key Responsibilities
Management of Team:
- Management of Financial Control Team looking after daily tasks.
- Review of Month End audit files in order to reconcile all balance sheet items back to source system or other relevant back-up.
- Produce KRI’s for the team to ensure that control environment is robust.
- Supporting Credit Investments, Structured Finance, Project Finance and Resource Finance desks.
- Build and maintain good relationships with the Desk Heads through constant communication and regular contact including Monthly review meetings.
- Act as first point of contact for new and complex deals to ensure that they are booked correctly in line with IFRS.
- Work with different areas of the bank including Tax, Group Finance, Lending Ops and Regulatory Reporting to produce detailed Deal Notes and Transfer Pricing analysis for all material deals.
- Assisting Lending Operations area in terms of any other issues e.g. fee booking, cash reconciliation.
- Manage the relationship with the External Auditors around the Half Year end and Full year end processes and around specific deals that require sign-off.
- Manage relationship with Internal Audit on their periodic reviews of each business.
- Liaison with Regulatory Reporting including reviewing methodology to optimise capital utilisation.
Candidate Profile
Technical knowledge:
- Minimum of 5 years post qualified Chartered Accountant with detailed IFRS knowledge.
- Management experience required.
- Minimum of 4 years Banking experience also necessary.
- Strong, proven academic ability – educated to Degree level or equivalent.
Skills:
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Methodical approach, combined with the ability to evaluate and interpret data from a variety of sources.
- Knowledge of Loan IQ, Arena, Calypso, JDE, Essbase would be an advantage.
