Head of Financial Control (VP Level role) recruitment
The Position
Our client is a global bank with strong regional presence. This is an exciting opportunity for a solid finance professional to lead the local reporting team with 3 direct reports into this role.The role encompasses all aspects of statutory and regulatory control across legal entities in Singapore and for ensuring best practice financial control for entities in Singapore.
- Support the Singapore CFO as a business partner in Singapore, supporting the statutory regulatory activities of the Singapore based entities and business for both Group and local regulatory purposes.
- Support business developments in Singapore and focus on enhancing controls to ensure we meet regulatory and stated Sarbanes-Oxley compliance objectives.
- Managing Production/ Controlling/ Analyzing of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for all entities in Singapore for both local regulatory and statutory purposes.
- Responsible for the relationship with external auditors and other local fiscal authorities.
- Responsible for finance control activities and managing the financial control team in an effective manner
- Liaison with other finance functions such as Group Financial and Regulatory Control, MI and Business Unit Control to ensure that all processes run smoothly and all dependencies are managed
- Facilitator of change for finance change initiatives impacting Singapore.
- Supervise direct reporting lines and their activities effectively
- Support and encourage staff development by agreeing objectives and training requirements and reviewing these periodically
- Ensure management processes are in place to monitor performance and competence and capability of employees;
• Team Budget Setting Management including monitoring and control of discretionary spend
• Ensure appropriate business processes and policies are in place
The Candidate
• Strong experience in management of a Finance function
• Local Statutory and Regulatory reporting experience involving interaction and challenge with senior management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS, local regulatory requirements and ability to keep abreast of regulatory, tax and accounting developments.
- Sound understanding of control framework and discipline.
- Financial Markets Product knowledge
