Head of Financial Controls recruitment
The Accounting and Finance department develops high performing individuals through stretch assignments, training, and cross functional project collaboration.
Role Responsibilities:
- Build a control-conscious environment throughout the company. Prepare the company to be Sarbanes-Oxley ready while balance controls and risk exposure (company is not required to be SOX compliant).
- Develop and execute a risk-based audit plan to cover business units, business service center, and corporate functions.
- Develop and support compliance of standardized financial policies and procedures.
- Conduct a variety of audits: accounting and reporting integrity, decision support such as post completion capital review, benchmarking, effectiveness of business process, data management, operations.
- Partner with management to proactively identify opportunities for audit assistance.
- Develop a working relationship with external auditors. Lead the preparation of financial control documentation and audit schedule for quarterly and annual audits.
- Travel ~35%
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA highly preferred
- Experience: 7-10 years of audit experience in the Corporate Audit function of an organization of relevant size and complexity. Prior public accounting experience desirable. Startup audit function experience highly desirable.
- Technical knowledge: Sarbanes Oxley Act, COSO, SAS70
- Professional certification: CPA, CIA preferred
- Behavioral: Strategic thinker with a tactical hands-on approach. Proactive and self driven with the ability to think creatively in an undefined environment. Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced culture. Understands and supports the need for discipline and deadlines in a high growth, rapidly developing organization.
- Communication: Superior written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Effective leader and mentor with the ability to be a solid team player.
