Head of Financial Risk recruitment

 You will manage a team of 12 people and be responsible for providing the the Chief Risk Officer with specialist insight and analysis of all financial risks impacting NFU Mutual. As well as having ownership for the Group's Internal Model, you will be expected to develop and embed the Group's Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) framework across all areas of the business. The role holder will be expected to manage and motivate the team, drive the function forward and influence key stakeholders to raise the profile of risk across the Group. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

     Development, management and maintenance of the Group's internal model

     Developing effective strategy, policy and structures for financial risk management

     Ownership of the Group's general insurance and life actuarial models

     Management of the Group's ORSA process

     Co-ordination of financial risk management initiatives and risk management reporting

     People management and development

This is a senior leadership role within NFU Mutual that will provide the role holder a real opportunity to influence the business. 

You will probably be professionally qualified with the Chartered Institute of Insurance and have either Financial Risk Manager/Professional Risk Manager (or equivalent) qualifications. Equally, you may be a qualified actuary or someone with relevant practical experience. Critically, you will have extensive, practical risk management experience and knowledge of the insurance industry. In addition to this, prior exposure to Solvency II development and implementation would be an advantageous. The role demands the following attributes: 

     Strong leadership skills

     Technical competence and understanding of risk management

     Excellent communication and influencing skill

     Strong report writing and presentation skills

     An understanding of stochastic and actuarial modeling techniques
