Company Description:
My client has recently embarked on a strategic transformation program to expand operations into Asia Pacific and increase their foothold within the global markets space. A key initiative for the bank will be to grow and strengthen their FX business; increasing trade volumes through automated trading strategies.
Role Description:
The Head of FX Technology will be responsible for the management of the technology team (Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and Support Analysts) and will work closely with business heads to build out technology solutions for marking making, algo trading, real time pricing and distribution.
Duties:
- Defining a 3 year roadmap around business initiatives, build and execution technology strategy
- Working with senior stakeholders, some at board level, to determine strategy around algorithmic trading, market making and price distribution technology solutions
- Enhance the execution platform capabilities
- Build real-time low latency exchange links for STP execution;
- Develop relationships with business partners and other key stakeholders in order to understand their information requirements;
- Systematically grow the team and ensure technical expertise up to date;
- Contribute to the development of a collaborative team environment
Role Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience managing an FX technology function within a global investment bank
- Strong business knowledge in the FX space is required
- Good overall understanding of real time, low latency architecture. This is not a hands on technical role, however it is expected that the incumbent will possess a solid understanding of the technology stack gained through a development/architectural background.
- Demonstrable experience managing teams in excess of 40 people
- Experience working in a regional/global role
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are mandatory for the position
