Head of Group Planning & Forecasting – London recruitment
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Global Life Insurer based in London City.
The Head of Group Planning Forecasting is required to lead, design, implement and subsequently manage all aspects of the planning and forecasting processes as well as perform analysis of the plan and forecast results across the group, challenging senior executives on the key assumptions trends as required. The role also requires financial analysis support for Group strategy process.
Role:
- Lead, design and implement a fit for purpose Group planning and forecast process, ensuring consistent measuring/modelling methodologies are being used for these processes. Processes to reflect Solvency II requirements and transition arrangements where appropriate.
- Work with Strategy team to develop the financial analysis required to support the Group’s strategy process, including stress scenario analysis.
- Lead on Planning Forecasting Automation project – using Hyperion / another system to automate planning forecasting processes.
- Work with GEC members on planning forecasting processes to ensure high level of engagement understanding of key assumptions and metrics.
- Challenge GEC BU MDs on plan assumptions / trends where appropriate.
- Work with Resolution to address their planning forecasting questions and analysis requirements.
- Provide insight on an ad hoc basis on significant business projects that will impact the future financial performance of the business and ensure that the financial implications of any changes on the business plans and forecasts are fully understood prior to key decisions being made.
- Effective leadership, management and development of direct reports
Requirements:
- Professional Financial or Actuarial qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, BBS, FIA or FFA and/or hold an MBA.
- Highly numerate and analytical - able to interpret, challenge and understand results trends and the (complex) interrelations of those results.
- Have understanding of the broader perspectives as well the ability to focus on the detail.
- Able to apply commercial commentary to business decisions.
- Able to communicate and influence clearly at all levels (both orally and in writing).
- Highly disciplined and organised - able to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong working knowledge/expertise in financial and actuarial reporting (IFRS and MCEV) and financial KPI’s for life businesses.
- Immediate experience of the insurance environment, regulatory framework (FSA / EIOPA), solvency measures and actuarial principles and practices.
- Work with senior stakeholders in a demanding and high profile role.
- Presentation of reports and papers to Board level and external parties.
- Proven experience of working within a FTSE 100 company (or equivalent) in both size and complexity, operating within a senior role at group level.
- Strong management experience including process improvement.
- Experience of leading, developing and motivating a team through change
