Head of Information

We are seeking to recruit a Head of Information for a well renowned, unique Online business.  

This is a key position, with responsibility to ensure the effective use and flow of information through the organisation in support of commercial operations.  The role is highly visible, having direct contact with and influencing decisions through the communication of market and business analysis and implications for the firm.

As a team leader, you will be leading the production of analysis and business insights, research and content management, reporting and data management functions.

As an expert in your own right, you will be relied upon as part of the management team - expected to help shape the business for the short and longer term.

Skills profile:

Applicants should be able to show the ability to manage diverse teams to ensure all information projects and deadlines are met. This will include management of web analytics, and managing the generation of management information, in particular, of sources of revenue with market segmentation. 

A practice development, market and competitor analysis and Knowledge Management/research career could be relevant, or other background where commercial analysis has been provided to impact strategic and operational issues for an organisation which cultivates professional communities as part of its business model.

You should be confident in your ability to:

- Synthesise and interpret complex findings and communicate them to solve a business challenge.  This will require clear communication and a high degree of organisation;

- Develop networks of contacts inside and outside the organisation;

- Focus on development of the business;

- Mentor a diverse team of individual, technical experts;

- Partner and consult with the wider business;

- Executive briefings and reporting on commercial activity;

- Analysis by client, by product and service and by region;

- Competitive Intelligence;

- Thought leadership, facility and content development.

The role will suit someone from an intelligence-led professional services or online environment, with a combination of information management, research, analysis and interpretive skills, and with an interest in developing a career along commercial and strategic path.
