Head of Internal Audit recruitment
Reporting to the CEO, duties will include:
- Lead the internal audit function including formulation of comprehensive internal audit policies and process as well as a code of best practice. Successful candidate will also be setting strategic and operational objectives, and reporting these achievements to Audit Committee
- Responsible for all stages of audits including planning, designing and executing internal audit and risk activities
- Management of more junior staff members where assistance from Group is provided in the delivery of internal audits
- Add value to Risk and Compliance functions.
- Act as main point of contact for internal audit queries and whitle-blowers. Also promote awareness of the internal control function.
- Liaise with Group Internal Audit in relation to Group wide policies and projects
- Input into the Group wide Risk Committee
- Preparation of ad hoc regulatory reports
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified accountant with a number of years PQE (or internal audit qualification)
- Strong Insurance audit experience within financial services or a large accountancy firm.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk and internal controls
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Good commercial acumen
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong organisational and planning capabilities
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Experience of working to deadlines and delivering under pressure
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
