Head of Investment Strategy, IP&S
The Chief Investment Office is a global function that drives the ‘House View’ and delivers a comprehensive product across asset classes and geographic regions. This is complemented by the local research produced by the UBS Investment Bank in Australia. A key tenant of this role is to draw those two inputs together to formulate the ‘House View’ in an Australian context and in a way that resonates with local clients and Client Advisors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Formulate the local ‘House View’ both at a high macro level and per asset class. This should be consistent with and draw upon the global CIO
- Express this view in written and verbal form through a variety of channels. These are principally:
- Weekly Investment Meeting (presentation to Client Advisors nationally)
- Weekly strategy note
- Monthly strategy note and asset allocation packs following the publication of the CIO monthly view
- Integrate into the CIO global process, offering a view from Australia
- Presentations / Roadshows / Events
- Represent UBS externally
- Contribute to portfolio meetings across each asset class
- Produce actionable ideas in an Australian context that are consistent with CIO view
- Measure and be accountable for performance of ideas and key revenue numbers
- Work top-down and provide framework for “asset class specialists” work bottom-up from individual security level
- Develop and execute annual business sales plan. KPIs will be aligned to activity and successful attainment of sales targets
Requirements:
- Extensive investment experience in similar or related roles, ideally with portfolio/funds management
- Multi asset class experience
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Resilience - ability to work under pressure, to tight timescales
- Proven self starter
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to present and articulate views to both internal and external audiences
- Accuracy attention to detail
- Strong PC skills
