Head of IT Architecture, Finance, London recruitment
My client is a global financial organisation based in London. They are currently looking for a Head of IT Architecture.
Responsibilities
· To articulate the architectural vision, conceptualizing and experimenting with alternative architectural approaches, creating models and component and interface specification documents, and validating the architecture against business strategy and assumptions.
· Manage a small team of between three to five architects with different areas of technical expertise
· Be the authority on all technical architecture matters.
· Set the vision and direction of future architecture
· Be the representative of Technical Architecture to other areas of the business.
· Defining, maintaining, and enhancing the base Application Architecture that will be used on all applications.
· Provide guidance in best practice and tool use in the design and building of technical frameworks and the applications built on them
· Ensure that the architecture promotes systems that are highly available , cost effective and resilient commensurate with providing services to the financial industry
Technical Knowledge
· Carry out reviews to ensure conformance to the clients Development Standards and Controls
· Have a sound knowledge of the appropriate development environment, and an understanding of the architecture
· Aware of global IT changes, its effects and its potential to the client and the clients customers
· Keep a breast of all technologies used by department and make recommendation on future directions.
· knowledge of Microsoft .NET, Java, SQL, IBM Websphere MQ, Oracle, Tomcat
· Understanding of development processes and methodologies. Agile experience desirable.
