Head of IT – Banking – Qatar recruitment
Reporting to the Group Head of ICT, the Head of IT will be responsible for the overall direction of all technology functions associated within the bank. This remit will include managing information technology applications, communications (voice, data, and wireless), and computing services which impact the Bank as well as its products and customers.
Additionally, the Head of IT will be tasked with defining which technologies are recommended or required by the bank and will provide direction to all technology functions within the bank to maintain maximum efficiency of the bank capital; including hardware, software and personnel. This role will also define the bank's technical objectives and plans in the areas of technologies to facilitate its orderly and efficient implementation, and will define standards for training, equipment cost and usage, cost/usage ratios, procedures and technical personnel time and project allocation.
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must be hold an IT qualification, coupled with at least 15 years experience in IT; with at least 8 years in the Banking industry. It is crucial that candidates have an extremely strong awareness and familiarity in IT with regards to best practices in banking. Candidates must have proven leadership, management and supervisory experience in a similar position and will also need to demonstrate thorough knowledge of IT infrastructure; including data communication network technologies and operating systems in banking.
Please note, Temenos T24 project lead implementation experience would be highly beneficial.
