Head of IT Finance

My client, a globally recognised Blue Chip business is looking to recruit a commercial, qualified accountant to take on a role with responsibility for the cost performance of their IT function across the EMEA region. This position will be highly visible within the organisation giving you the opportunity to partner the business and executive teams.

You will be given ownership of the budgets for IT and their growing project portfolio. This will mean that at senior management and executive meetings, you will be expected to provide updates on the cost performance across the EMEA region and forecast for major project initiatives. To be able to do this successfully, on a day to day basis you will have regular interaction with IT and project managers to break down costs in each project, challenge their assumptions and identify costs saving opportunities.

In addition to this, you will also link in closely with the FPA team for the region, undertaking monthly reviews to report on the cost allocations and performance against budgets/ forecasts across the region.

In my view this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has strong business partnering experience. You will need to be able to develop strong relationships with your key stakeholders, explain complex financials in a more simple form and challenge assumptions put forward by decision makers. Therefore I am looking for a fully qualified senior finance professional with experience from a complex international business. You will need to have taken ownership for a large cost base such as IT or similar and have an appreciation of project accounting. Also as I mentioned earlier, softer skills will play a key part in this position so I will be looking for evidence that you have worked in a finance role that sits closer to the business than the core finance team.
