The Company
A multinational insurance company is urgently looking for a Head of IT to manage the Information Technology department for IT Infrastructure, Application Development and IT related Projects. Initially on a 3-6 months contract to permanent basis.
The Role
As a Head of IT, you are responsible to oversee the Information Technology department, formulate strategies, implement and monitor procedures and policies as well as budget control to meet the needs and objectives of the firm. Drive and manage the regional projects and liaise with business stakeholders. Improve in-house technical expertise, recruit, motivate and develop quality professional staff to ensure excellent service delivery. Coach develop the existing resources; monitor the performance through well defined metrics and SLAs. Take ultimate control for validating technical solutions proposed by project teams / vendors and make appropriate recommendations to senior management.
In addition, you are able to keep abreast of technology developments and capabilities, and who will proactively make recommendations where necessary. Cooperate with outside consultants as appropriate for independent IT security audits.
Your Profile
To qualify as a Head of IT, you will have an IT Bachelor Degree holder in Information Technology or related disciplines with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience, including 5 years experience at managerial level in insurance or finance industry. PMP certified, Prince2 certified, ITIL certified preferred.
Strong understanding and technical knowledge of current IT infrastructure/application development technologies and how they interact with impact business operations. Experienced in IT outsourcing and vendor management and able to create a positive business relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
You should be confident, assertive personality and highly self-motivated, able to meet tight deadlines, and make decisions independently. They should be accustomed to the communication of detailed technical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff (including senior management), be highly familiar with best practices in IT service management (ITIL). Proven communications skills to include a strong command of both written and spoken English Cantonese, with Mandarin.
Immediately available with experience in insurance industry is highly preferred and will be considered first.
