Head of Legal and Compliance Asia recruitment
You will be tasked with assuming responsibility for all legal (including regulatory and tax aspects) and compliance issues of the company's entities in Asia as well as potential affiliates.
Besides managing the legal and compliance teams in Asia, you will monitor legal and regulatory developments in the relevant markets and ensure immediate action is taken to implement changes due to such developments. You will also establish a robust framework to address the risks stemming from cross-border business including an effective control environment. Besides setting up new legal entities in Asia and filing necessary licenses with regulators, you will establish and maintain good relationships with them and act as corporate secretary to all Asian entities and take care of all employment and corporate law matters of the entities.
The incumbent will craft review agreements between the Asian entities, review any marketing material and term sheets to ensure full adherence to legal requirements and best market practices as well as provide advice on special transactions and craft/review corresponding documentation. You will also coordinate with the Head Office on account opening procedures, including drafting of distribution agreements and all other documents specific to Asia clients and asset managers. You will be the main point of contact for internal and external auditors as well as perform periodical trainings on legal compliance matters.
The incumbent should have a law degree from a recognised university and have a minimum of 7-10 years of work experience as a Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer in Asia for the banking industry. He/She should also have relevant management experience.
