Head of Legal & Compliance

Full Job Description

- Compliance
- To assist to embed and strengthen the legal and compliance environment, in particular in relation to its relationships with Customers, Regulators and Industry Bodies
- To take primary daily role in ensuring the business is compliant with legal, regulatory and code requirements including those laid out by BIS, OFT, FSA, ASA Schemes and any other appropriate Industry - Regulatory body. Assist to protect Consumer credit licence and API at all times
- Ensure that the Governance Framework and all business policies are documented and followed with regular audits-assessments

- Legal
- Provide legal support to all functions, ensuring the business remains compliant whilst making the best possible commercial decisions.
- Provide Legal support on Acquisitions and Deals and material contractual matters
- Advise on the impacts of potential changes to law - regulation on the business.
- Help to influence appropriate bodies to shape such changes to be in the company`s interests or minimise any negative impact

- Company Secretary

- Act as Assistant Company Secretarial matters on behalf of the group, reporting to General Counsel
- Assist to communicate within the business the legal - compliance responsibilities and requirements to Employees
- Assist to ensure good corporate Governance and that legal and regulatory requirements are satisfied

- At least 6 years qualified legal-compliance experience
- Experience in the Financial services industry in Compliance or with an associated Regulatory body for 5+ years
- Ideally Strong Exposure to credit cards

c£100000 plus package
