The management and safeguarding of fund assets entrusted to ETHENEA constitutes the core of the company’s business. As a capital investment company not affiliated with any bank, ETHENEA provides assistance with regard to asset administration by setting up and overseeing investment funds.
The role of the Head of Macroeconomic Research
As part of the investment committee, the Head of Macroeconomic Research will be responsible for the macroeconomic outlook and forecast, expressed through research publications and internal as well as external communication, and will contribute meaningfully to the investment decision process. The ideal candidate will have buy-side experience within a trade oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coverage of global and cross country economic issues aimed at developing investment ideas and aiding the asset allocation process
Generation of macroeconomic forecasts for the investment committee
Research of investment strategies and trades to be presented and recommended to the investment committee
Contribution to the production of marketing and client reporting material for individual strategies and portfolios
Requirements
- Outstanding academic track record and expertise in economics
- Strong analytical skills
- Proven experience (10 years) in the macroeconomic environment, either at a global financial services firm or at a government institution
- Effective interaction with portfolio managers, investors, analysts, senior management and staff
- Excellent team player and proactive, at ease within an entrepreneurial environment and a small team
- Excellent communication and ability to convey ideas both and written and orally
- Fluency in German and English, Italian and/or French desirable
