Our client is looking for a senior marketing professional with deep investment management experience to be their Director of Marketing located on the East Coast of Australia.
The role
The role involves a high degree of innovation to market a number of new investment products across a broad range of asset classes for both the domestic and international markets. The product set spans across institutional and wholesale market segments. Speed to market and ability to deliver profitable outcomes are critical for this role. The role requires a hands on approach working with a small, collaborative team.
This role will work with the following teams:
- sales, product development and investment management teams to market and promote new products to take to market
- finance, operations and external agencies to provide support for marketing initiatives
- Legal/Compliance departments and legal advisers on fund creations/changes and regulatory matters regarding marketing and communication of new products
Candidate capabilities
The successful candidate must have the ability to develop, support and implement critical Business Development and Marketing Plans which requires excellent brand (specifically alignment), general marketing and communication skills with implementation capabilities. Experience in working closely with distribution, product and investment teams in a boutique incubator, large multi-asset manager and/or a Fund of Fund provider would be highly attractive. They require a proven leader and highly effective senior team-member with strong key stakeholder management skills who has a disciplined approach to determining the source of competitive advantage and best way to promote this to the market
In addition, the individual needs to be highly collaborative, influential and unifying. They must have project management skills and strong key stakeholder management coupled with outstanding communication and strong presentation skills. The ability to translate complex product information into plain English to facilitate product take up critical.
Strong institutional market focus and externally connected with links to the PR and media communities is required. Financial acumen and budget management skill are critical and it is preferred that the individual is Tertiary qualified in a business field such as Bachelor of Business / Commerce / Management / Marketing / Finance / Accounting / Economics.
