Head of MI, Planning & Analysis, Group Insurance recruitment

The Group’s Insurance Head Office exists to provide functional leadership, strategic direction, oversight, co-ordination, monitoring and control of the Group’s insurance businesses worldwide. Insurance is one of the Group’s key product lines.
An excellent opportunity currently exists for a suitably qualified individual to take responsibility for Management Information, Planning Analysis for HSBC Insurance at the Group level as well as formal people management responsibility including oversight of an offshore team based in Gurgaon, India. Duties will include:
- Responsible for delivery of all MI, PA output to the business and senior management within the organization.
- The role will require the individual to support the CFO Group Insurance and Insurance Executive team as necessary.
- The full suite of MI, PA responsibilities (Management Reporting, Financial Data Analysis, Finance Systems, Rolling Operating Plan, Financial Modeling, and Finance Business Support) will be supported/lead in this role.
- The role holder is also responsible for ensuring that the offshore team performs to its fullest potential to realise the required efficiency and time savings, and is responsible for identifying and implementing any further offshoring opportunities
- This role will have considerable exposure to the CFO HSBC Insurance, Regional/ Key Site Insurance CFO’s as well as senior members of Group Finance. Expectations are that the individual will also spent considerable time working with the Regional Bank MI Heads.
- To manage the collection of complex financial information from across the HSBC Group during both the monthly closing cycle and the ROP.
- To provide and communicate to Senior Management in HSBC Holdings plc comprehensive consolidated financial information, including analysis and explanation of key trends and performance during both the monthly closing cycle and the ROP.
- Lead process improvement projects for the Insurance MI, including process redesign and system and reporting enhancements.
- Lead the Global Insurance ROP.
- Support and input to developments in MI reporting in RBWM to ensure Insurance is aligned
To be considered for this role you will be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA equivalent) with relevant post qualified experience gained within a FTSE 100 or equivalent financial services organisation. Experience within the insurance industry, preferably Life (either within a business or from audit) is a prerequisite as is knowledge of IFRS relevant Insurance accounting. You will ideally have worked in senior MI or FPA roles with regular interaction with senior management both inside and outside of finance. Strong analytical skills with a commercial bias, investigative mindset and proven influencing skills will be key to your success.
