Position Description:
Morgan Stanley is seeking a strong candidate for its Global Regulatory Reporting Standards and Control Team. Candidate must be able to effectively manage a FHC capital reporting production team and advise senior management and functional partners on capital reporting matters. Candidate will need to effectively represent the firm to Federal Reserve Bank examiners and internal/external auditors. Candidate will interact internally across divisions including Business Unit Controllers, Market Risk Department, Credit Risk Department, Legal Department, Treasury, Information Technology and Financial Control.
This candidate will oversee the following team and provide high level guidance to the following processes:
Head of North America FHC Regulatory Capital Reporting
• Manage North America FHC Regulatory Capital Reporting Team in the production of FHC capital reporting pursuant to Basel I, II, 2.5 and III, including FFIEC 101 and Pillar 3 disclosures.
• Advise senior management and functional partners such as Treasury, Risk and segment CFOs on capital reporting matters.
• Participate in Basel working groups for the implementation of Basel II, 2.5 and III.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining internal controls over capital reporting.
• Establish capital reporting requirements. Communicate and manage those requirements with data providers. Establish and maintain service level agreements with data providers.
• Partner with business units and risk groups to optimize capital.
• Work with Head of Reporting to assess capital reporting IT platform to develop a common platform for both FHC capital reporting and business unit capital allocation. Assist in developing necessary strategy and work with Change-the-Bank Group and IT for implementation.
• Act as liaison with Federal Reserve Examiners, Quality Assurance function and Internal Audit on examination and audit matters.
• Partner with Capital Reporting groups in other regions.
• Work closely with Financial Regulatory Reporting and SEC Reporting Teams in the production and management of FRY-9C, 10-K/Q, FFIEC 009, etc.
• Work closely with Regulatory Policy Team in policy setting and interpretation with a focus on putting policy into production.
• Manage, motivate and develop staff to ensure performance and the achievement of individual staff goals.
• Prepare and present analytics and variance analyses for periodic due diligence with Senior Management and functional partners.
Skills Required:
•BS/BA in Accounting or Finance and 10-15+ years relevant Regulatory Reporting work experience.
•Experience with Basel I, II, 2.5 and III.
•CPA/MBA+.
•Ability to manage people, be highly self-motivated and promote teamwork.
•Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills including the ability to renovate existing processes.
•Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
•Ability to interact well with others at all levels.
•Ability to handle and resolve recurring challenges and problems.
