Head of Oil & Gas Research
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Senior research analyst to join a global Tier 2 Bank specialising and heading up Oil Gas research. This is an exciting opportunity for an investment professional who wishes to grow and develop by taking the next step in their career to work in an experienced and successful global research team.
This role demands a combination of talents. An acute, analytical mind is a prerequisite. The ability to effectively and efficiently manage your own workload and meet demanding deadlines for delivery of research is vital. You will also need the communication and people skills necessary to sell your insights to their investment teams.
The ideal candidate will possess circa. 5 years plus experience covering generalist EP companies with an established sell side Bank.
Qualifications Skills
* Minimum of 5 years plus in the Oil and Gas sector equity research team :-–
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with experience in modelling Oil Gas
- Providing industry and sector research, company valuations and financial modeling.
- Strong analytical/numerical skills
- Excellent commercial judgement
- Strong presentation Skills
- Solid verbal/ written communication skills
- Excellent spreadsheet skills including exposure to cashflow and ratio analysis
- Strong PowerPoint and word skills
- Stocks covered: Afren, Africa Oil, Cairn energy and Dragon Oil
Education / Experience:
Successful candidates will display an exceptional academic background and a strong record of achievement within a reputable investment bank or accountancy practice covering the Oil Gas sector. Candidates will have very strong analytical and communication skills with strong valuation/modeling techniques.
- Proven track record working for a top tier management consulting firm (typically Big 4) or top tier investment bank or leading commodity trading house.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering results in a challenging environment, resulting in regular promotions
- Confidence in dealing with clients across all levels
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of key drivers within Energy and/or Financial Services industry
- Past experience of managing a team.
