We are seeking a consultant with officer-level operational risk experience who can operate in a role of Head of Operational Risk for a long-term project with one of our clients. The role requires active analysis, monitoring and management of the operational risk of a corporate and investment bank. The candidate must be well-versed and possess previous experience spearheading and managing the following activities:
• Performing an operational risk mapping, identifying and documenting the potential risks, evaluating existing controls and proposing risk mitigants.
• Conducting investigations on operational risk incidents and producing detailed reports which identify the causes of the incident, process failures, financial impact and risk mitigants.
• Proposing and monitoring the implementation of action plans to reduce operational risks.
• Ensuring the implementation of existing policies and procedures.
• Collecting and analyzing Key Risk Indicators.
• Project Managing Electronic Execution Platform requests and serving as the primary contact for project managers responsible for administering a proprietary system.
• Conducting operational risk training to applicable internal employees.
• Participating in committee meetings.
The candidate should also have strong project management skills as well as independent work habits, while demonstrating the ability to multitask under tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required; an MBA and at least 10 years’ experience in operational risk management in the banking industry is preferred.
