Head of Operational Risk – Corporate Banking recruitment
The bank are a leading player within the Singapore and ASEAN markets and the successful candidate will play a significant regional role in framework management and policy management/ implementation. Although the remit is regional, travel will not constitute a major component of the role itself.
Responsibilities will include :
- Ensuring that corporate banking and group operational risk policies and procedures are adhered to within Singapore and across regional offices
- Assessing operational risks in an efficient and timely manner. This will include ensuring that control cost/ benefit decisions are made transparently and in line with Group Risk appetite
- Embedding and communicating the bank’s Risk Management framework across the wider business, engaging with key stakeholders at source
- Providing a focal point of control over the aggregate level of operational risk that arises from end to end processes, including the design of effective controls and systematic monitoring of process control effectiveness
- Ensuring that risks of processing failure are being actively controlled on an end to end basis
Skills required :
- A strong background within operational risk from a corporate, commercial, retail or private banking is essential
- Knowledge of and professional exposure to the SME market is highly preferred
- Degree level or equivalent
- Good communication skills are essential – this role will involve interaction with staff at all levels on an international basis
